It’s been a big day, it’s getting late, it’s cold outside
but soooo nice and ‘dozy’ here in front of the fire that bed is sounding better
by the minute! I think it is time to introduce ‘Group Blogging’…..
We spent our morning at the Poatina Primary School, which in total had around 10 students. We got into groups and got to know the student that we’d been grouped with, and…..[I didn’t get to go very far with this because Lilli is a distraction!......Georgia C].

Story time for a new student feeling a little 'overwhelmed' |
During the school visit, we played AFL, did stretches and played cat and mouse as one group. We ended the school visit by talking about what we enjoy about Poatina. [Connor]

'Warming up' for some AFL skills |
We started off the day by visiting a few young school
children at the Poatina School. We played a few games with them, and performed
a little skit to them. After, we travelled to HollyBank to have a go on
Australia’s biggest zip line. We ended the day with Devotion. (Jane)

Basketball skills |
The day started off meeting the children of Poatina learning
and teaching them different things within a time slot of an hour. After this we
went of a journey to Holly-bank tree tops where we soared at quick speeds and
heights whilst looking at some amazing views! [Eli]

Never too young to start school…..? |
After we saw the school kids, we hopped on the bus and
travelled through Launceston to the Holly-Bank Tree Adventure Park. Here we
went on Australia’s biggest Zip Line ride, (like a flying fox), where we went
at speeds of up to 80km/hour. (That was only some people.) It was sooooo fun! We
had a great day and finished off with a good meal of Apricot Chicken. Mum, you
can post if you want. [Charlie]

Sinead [in the striped top in the middle] 'honoary' Year 9 WWCC
|
Hello, I’m Sinead. I’ve lived here in Poatina for thirteen
years. I work in the café at their accommodation. It’s been great having these guys here! They seem to have
blended in so easily and I’ve loved getting to know them just a little bit.
It’s been great to watch as they have grown in themselves and as a group,
becoming closer and understanding a little about the lives each other live.
They’re all such beautiful and unique people and I can’t wait to see where they
go and what they do with their lives, they ALL have a real power to make a
difference. [Sinead]

Dear mumma lamma, aka Lisa king, miss you heaps. I find it
ironic that once I have left home I am unable to talk. Miss you so much. Tell
Emma to get out of my bed. I miss jack heaps and love you all. Tell boof I found
a new bff dog. His name is ‘muggie’ and is a lot prettier than him. [Jess]
Hey friends, moms, dads and humans reading this. This place is ‘painfully’ amazing. Yes I have currently fractured my wrist because of a slippery rock. I miss you guys. I miss my bed, but the experience of getting closer to my friends has been good. Talk l8er….love, Martin
Thanks guys for all your help in writing today's blog…looking forward to tomorrow's Adventurous Adventures, almost as much as I'm looking forward to tonight's sleep!! [Mrs A]

ReplyDeleteIt has been great to follow your adventures. I met a visitor at church on Sunday who lives at Poatina. He knew that you were visiting and was disappointed he was not going to be there to welcome you. How nice to have a great reputation. The staff prayed for you and the trip this morning.
